Hi - I don't own a corvette, yet (i stress yet) because of after many years of dreaming I am ready to get one. I am looking for about an 88 to 94 for a weekend toy. My dilema is whether to get coupe or vert. I would love to have a vert, but the trunk space worries me. I need to be able to fit some cargo, about 23" wide, 28" long, and 4" high. Will this fit in the trunk space of a convertible c4? If not will it even fit in a coupe with the targa stored in the back.
I know it's an odd request, but I'd appreciate any help from someone that has the measurements.
Thank you and hopefully I can finally buy my dream vette that I grew up with.

Get a coupe the Verts are great but they are short in the rear area in space.
Trunk space???? We don't need no stinkin' trunk space!!!!
Don't know about the later C4's but I promise you it will NOT fit in my '86 verts little tiny storage area when the top is down (anytime I am behind the wheel).
Not a chance you would hear me call that a trunk.
If I were to go on a week long road trip, I could store all my needed clothing and toiletries in that space without having to wear the same thing twice (16 years of cross country driving teaches you how to pack). However if the wife wanted to go on a weekend trip somewhere........would have to load up one of the vans with all her Krap!!!
I have seriously been considering selling the vert and buying a coupe just for that reason. Alternative would be to buy one of those tiny trailers (yup........I know......bunch of y'all are disgusted by that thought ). Will keep the vert for the next 2 years and either add a coupe or do the small trailer (most likely option for me).

Good luck in your decision.
As far as I know the wheel wells didn't move between years so it will fit in width and height. The only measurement different between 86-89 and 90-96 is from front to back because of the rear speaker placement. What do the early verts measure front to back?
92 vert - wife and I have taken 2 - 3 day trips and get a duffel bag in back for trip w/top down. Longer trip would probably present a samll
problem, but for a weekend no problem. SAVE THE WAVE
