shift kit......
well, i am currently ready to buy a vette
i really want a 6 speed but if i do get an auto, i'd like to get a shift kit for it
i heard of kits that retain automatic, and ones that let you always shift manually
i want to know if there are any kits that can do BOTH??
also, i think i could install it myself, i just need to know a good way to jack the vette up high enough for me to get underneath :confused:

Glenn, Mackey had put a B&M shift kit in his 96, I remember him saying he didn't like it, so he took it back out. Running the stock 4L60E in teh 11's he is :crazy:
If you aren't going to drag race, definitely hold out for a 6 speed.

I have the B&M kit in an upgraded 85. It will do what you want,ie shift itself or you can shift it. I am not overly fond of it. 1-2 shift is quick to the point of being harsh. 2-3 is firm and 3-4 is crisp. In traffic the 1-2 shift gets to be a pain in the rear end. It is set up with the street option. Can't guess how sharp the full track option would be. Many members are using the kit by Trans-Go and have nothing but good things to say about it. This might be a better option.

yeah, i'm not looking to race my vette, thats what camaro's are for :D
but does the trans go allow the option of choosing?
just to clue you in MoJo, i'm looking at a 1991 balck convertible auto, and maybe a 92 quasar blue coupe 6 speed
