There were 53 GS verts with red interior and of those, 42 had the F45 suspension (as this one is configured). 80K may be high but $65-70 might be reasonable. And the car only has <7K miles.

C4's can be difficult to understand when deciding value. Many C4's are cheap and abundant and make excellent entry level Corvettes but I don't know that a GS vert like this has ever sold as low as $30K. You'd do well to find a low miles GS coupe for 30. A Grand Sport vert sold 2 years ago out west for $125K I think it was while Roger brought one with 6K miles up to the Bloomington Gold show this past June where it sold at auction for $80,850. A GS coupe with 168 miles brought $68,775 in the auction also. Just for contrast an 84 sold at this same auction for around $1500 and it drove up on the block. Overheard bidders joking about it saying the way to own a car like that is when the first thing breaks leave the keys in the ignition somewhere and walk away.

i understand and fully agree with the intent and point of the OP.
sometime back, i posted my opinion on rip-off joints such as rogers corvettes.
some folks got their panties in a real snitch about it, and decided to attack me personally, which of course i laugh off as idiocy and incompetence.
jack-offs like rogers are there to sell the mint mobile at 3x the value, acting like your best friend while certain snobby buyers gladly take it in the shorts because its more important for them to "be seen" at a plase like that, or boast about buying there because the money flies higher than their scrawny little brains; like the saying goes, some people have more money than brains. it's make-believe, self-annointed "prestige".
and if anyone has a problem with that, for sure go for it, bring it on

I don't think Roger is doing anything wrong. He specializes in mint low miles stuff and there certainly are buyers out there in that price class. It takes a buyer and a seller to establish price history and real sales will always be governed by the laws of supply and demand. A 435 horse 1967 roadster sold at that same auction for $460,000. Some Corvettes will do this and some won't. As they say in the used car business.. there's a seat for every azz.

Places like Rogers, Barret Jackson, etc. cater to a different crowd of people. Just about everyone in here actually drives their cars.
If you want a driver, Rogers and other places like his are the last place you want to go. But it's obvious that some people do buy from them, or they wouldn't still be in business.
Weather or not the car is actually worth it does not matter. There will be someone come along with the money, and will add it to his collection. It's so sad that nobody will ever really enjoy driving such a great car.

This is the typical "gold chain" buyer who uses the car to enhance their image, not because they're a Corvette enthusiast. Chevy is well aware of them. The usual Corvette heritage was cleaned up a little in the C6 to help make the car a little more appealing upmarket. Many C6 owners are noobs and might not know they are supposed to wave.
