I have a 94 vette. I think it has the original plugs and wires. There is 68,500 miles on the car. She seems to run just fine. Feels smooth through the power band. So...... When is the recommended change?
Not sure what I should do.
I didn't change mine until 110,00 miles - I was getting a mid RPM miss, everyone told me it was my opti, but I changed out the plugs and wires and the miss went away. If it aint broke don't fix it. and your mileage is still pretty low as far as I'm concerned.
Yo my newbie. I hate to fix something like that unless I was getting performance issues. If you change them you might somehow create a problem. That's what always happens to me.
Owners manual states 100,000 miles. You could always pull one and check the condition. Just remember to use anti-seize on the plugs and be careful not to cross-thread them. Your heads are aluminum and are very easy to screw up.
I swapped the plugs out in my '93 @ 73,900 just for peace of mind. Can't remember if any of the pucks were missing off the AC Delco plugs. It's got NGK TR55's in it now. The LT1 still screams.
