Default Random future questions

So I am just curious if anyone knows the numbers on sales of the corvette? Has the amount produced gone up or down since inception? Im curious because with all this in the news about Toyota beating out GM due to reliability and fuel economy, is the sports car world getting smaller? Also as a 20 year old with a c4 I would love to have a collection when I get older of a c3,c4,c5,c6 etc and was wondering if the corvette might ever see an end like trans am and camaro did (albeit the camaro is coming back) Also with the amount of hp coming in future generations will the average buyer be able to control their new vette, I mean 5 and 600 hp is a ton for someone just looking for a thrill. Will GM ever really find an ending hp mark for the vette? or will it someday be at 900 and 1000? Sorry for all of the questions, not trying to get flamed here but I am just bored and curious.

I would like to have at least one of every generation but financally that will never happen unless I hit the PowerBall Lottery for 300mil. I don't think the Vette will ever disappear like the chevette, chevelle, el cameo, etc. Government regs will force GM to make the Vette more like Toyotas and Hondas. It will get to the point where the do-gooders will force horsepower/torque limits on all cars, just like they have on every other part of your personal life. I would offer to meet with you for a beer and a cigarette at your corner bar, but where I live all 3 are illegal!

I could assume that Vettes will continue to get faster and probably less economical until it becomes impossible to do because of the CAFE guidelines. So either there will be a new C8 or C8 Vette in 2028 or nada...

My crystal ball says Corvette will be a battery hybrid within 5 years.
