I want to remove the C4 badges from the nose and gas cap cover, so I have a completely flat surface when I use my PC. I thought the badge on the gas cover would be simple. loosen nuts and just tap off. not that simple. Don't want to tap too hard and screw something up. Has anyone removed this.
How do you get to the nut that hold the C4 badge on the nose ? then same question as above.
there are 2 speed nuts on each. size #10. take them off. then you need take a thin peice of metal like a feeler gauge and carefully slide it between the badge, and the car. there is a 2 sided tape on the back side of the badge.
They are held on with speednuts and double sided tape. There will be holes when you remove them of course. They make molding removal tools that are plastic/rubber as to not scratch the **** out of the paint.
Also when it comes to the old adhesive try a little dental floss and/or small gauge nylon weed wacker line. Allows you to work both sides of the emblem in a sawing motion after you have removed the speed nuts that is. The dental flow cuts a little better but breaks easier. I used the very small gauge nylon weed wacker line as it wont cut the paint. The remants can be removed with a slow thumbnail and a little wax.
On the Gas door, lots of 3m adhesive remover, then a hair dryer after it all drys.... Mine was on really good.Took about two days. It finally came off. The more time you take, the less paint u lose. On the nose, two speed nuts, put some dum-dum (Black sticky putty)in the socket so you don't lose them. The nose emblem pops right off.
