I had the LT1Edit done on mine several years ago. They did seven pulls during the tune (I could hear them from the Customer Waiting Room).
What did I gain? Don't know, since they not only wouldn't let me watch the pulls, they would only let me see one dyno chart....and that chart was down 4hp from the dyno pulls I'd done three months earlier at another shop.

Weather and different dynos probably accounted for that 4hp difference, so I'd say the LT1Edit was worth zero.
The car drove the same after as it did before.

Live and learn.

That is just wrong! The shop that did mine a couple years ago let me video tape it and spent time explaining what was going on too. Now I did go down there with 12 other cars for a whole day of dyno and dyno tuning for our club. Just another advantage of clubs, that most people poo-poo! It is pretty awesome being next to the exhaust on these cars when they are tached up to 5,500 RPM!

I hope you get the additional power.

I can only say this: if a car gains 30hp from a tune, then it was out of tune by about 25hp when it drove up on the rollers.
I.e. an LT1 making the full 300hp when it goes on the dyno for the tune won't be making 330 when it comes off.
If you pick up 5hp on a stock engine, give thanks.

That's roughly $500-$700 to tune a stock motor. I don't see the point...that money would be better saved & spent on other engine mods (ie heads, cam, headers), which would then benefit from a dyno tune.

FWIW....I paid pcmforless $200 for a mail order tune after the addition of the hotcam & headers. Car runs great. I just couldn't see spending $500+...big money dyno tunes are better spent on big power/money engines. Those are the types that need & benefit from dyno tunes.

Thats' the goin' price for a "dyno tune" and it will usually take a few hours. I don't know any place that will tune an LT1 for $75...unless it's your buddy who happens to have LT1 edit or Tunercat

Yes, you can get 3 pulls around here for $50 but even a mail order tune runs $200+ so how the heck can a dyno tune run $75? More power to ya' if that's the case but...

I just had my vette tuned a few weeks ago. They charge $125 an hour to use the dyno and $75 an hour to get it tuned. I was there for 3 hours and they let me watch the whole thing.

My dyno-tune ran $500 at a Los Angeles area Corvette tuner.
If you want the name, you'll have to PM me.

The problem is most tuning needs a lot more than 3 pulls...however considering your car is basically stock that'll probably do. When I had my 383 tuned it took about 4+ hours total, and countless dyno runs...I was there for all of them, but that was a ground-up tune.

In terms of power, I doubt you'll see much...no way will you get near 30HP from it. However, don't forget to get your fans reprogrammed and such while you're there.

you have 300 at the crank, you can expect 250-270 at the wheels.
I would spend the money on gears or a converter and forget the tune
until you have other mods that will require a tune.

If your only paying 125 for 3 pulls and a tune my guess would be he is going to adjust your fuel pressure go for it ya got nothing to lose.
I installed a hot cam long tubes and some port work. I went out to DRM Doug still dose all the tuning which is cool. I think he did 5 or 6 pulls and then we hit the road and he did some data logging I think he pulled out 19 hp but the difference in how smooth he got my car to idle and run was after the mods was well worth it.
I am certain with a cam change and headers a tune is in order. Any thing less and your wasting your money.
