Back in june they printed a response I wrote to the Tech Nerd about the clicking sound from the rear and in the Dec!! issue on page 16 in a letter from Mark Wilkinson he thanks me by name because that info helped with his C5 Z06
Surprise
If I had known that it would have been used to fix a C5 especially a Z06 I never would have written it cause we all know what snobs and how ugly their cars are
My 1988 corvette makes clicking noises from the rear end and I can't find where it comes from.
When I put my corvette on jack stands and crawl under the car and roll the rear wheels, it doesn't ever make the noise.
I even used a "mechanics stethascope"; those are really cool, to listen to the rear end, u-joint, wheel bearing, anything I could think of that would make the noise. When I am under the car it does not make the poping noise.
I have checked several times. I suspected the u-joints and wheel bearings. I changed all the u-joints and one wheel bearing. To expensive to change the other wheel bearing if its not broke. Still makes the poping noise.
I have put at least 7 or 8 thousand miles on it, so I figure it should have gone out by now if it is going to.

Steady, James. You'll give us Z owners a bad name.
