I just got an 85 vette because the previous owner was tired of tinkering with it and couldn't get it to run cool. So I inherited the car and dicovered a blown head gasket. I took the engine apart and replaced the gasket and in the process discovered a LOT of missing peices poor wiring and such. I have finally gotten the car back together and now it is making some strange noises and will fire upon start up but quickly shuts down after ward. I have tracked teh noise down a bit it sounds like it is coming from underneath the air plenum and it only makes the noise when I turn the key all the way off. I would love to see the way the engine is supposed to look and see what it is exactly that I am missing. I really can't afford to have a mechanic do all the work to repair it, and I would rather do it myself.
Any advice would really be helpful I am rather lost as to what to do at this point.
