i found a 91 coupe in excellent shape for $11,900
it has 116,000 miles
i checked out everything on it
no leaks everything appears solid
only thing that appears wrong are the power door locks
very clean car
its a 6 speed
In my own opinion, yes. If the car is in good condition, the miles are an after thought. Little things may go wrong, but if the base is solid you should have many more years of driving pleasure from this car. Good luck :flag
Too much $$$. If you can get the seller below 9500,you will have a bargain. If the power locks don't work, there is no telling what else doens't work/won't work shortly. I have seen many 92s and 93s for around 12k. Don't let the excitement lead you into a bad decision. You will regret it. Find a better deal or talk the seller down on his price. Good luck!
You guys find great deals  Here in Oklahoma vettes must sell for top dollar, because I never see deals like the ones some of you post :(
yeah, same here in MO. Six speed L98's go for 12-15....depending on condition and mileage. I went to an all vette auction in KC. No deals there either....way too high. There's pleny of vettes around and everybody it real proud of them. I paid 9 (last year) for an 84 with 62k. I sold it one year later for 8900. Some of this forum would say 9 for an 84 is  but thats what they go for around here.
It is really tough when you are "jones'n"... I know...this one is a bit too high though... find one out of state for a good price, buy a cheapo airfare and drive it home.... good luck :flag
Too high..... paid a tad more for my 89 and it had only 46,000 miles.... Don;t buy hastely you'll find just the right one for the right price!! Good Luck

I agree about the miles, but you should find a 92-96 ... much better value because of the LT1. I bought mine with 128k miles on it.. LT1, allll kinds of mods and upgrades, especially in the break area, and it was $14.5k
we have been thinking of selling our 89 coupe with only 40k on it. (left headlight works slowly )
other than that, it is extremely nice
no accidents, verifiable history, very well kept
I have never bought a used car in less than 2 months of looking. I just need to get the Jones's out of me during that period so I dont make a bad decision. There is no such thing as missing out on a once in a lifetime deal on used cars, next month the auto trader will be full of new ones to look at, and the ones that havent sold you will know about and can really neg a deal. I was searching for 2 months for 87-89 because it was all I had budgeted-this was a 3rd car, and I had a 6 mo baby, and one in the oven. The 87-88 were about $6500-$9500 depending on the condition and the owner. Saw a lot of them, and they all needed the same things:
1. New paint
2. New rugs & Seats, console lid door, door panels
3. Tires and\or rims
4. Shocks
5. Mufflers were usually pretty shot if original
6. They all ran real hot down here in FL.
7. They all had Stereos that needed some work- (Bose amps, cracked speakers, bad or no CD, etc)
I figured I could have spent $6500 and put in 3-4K to get it were I would be happy. This was cool by me and I was just waiting for the right 89 color combo cupcake to go for sale.
Just for poopies I called this guy with the 91in mint shape high miles asking 13K.
I said how low can you go? He said you have cash, I said yes, he said come see it. I went over.
This is his 4rth Vette weekend cruiser kept in the garage. He drives his Jeep during the week. Its mint except for worn out driver seat and faded red rug. Has glass top and solid top! 2 Bad Bose Amps. I left him my car and 1k drove it for 2 hours. Checked it all out. Gave him everything in my piggybank- $9k!
This was at the beginning of the economic slump in June- he was one of the first to lose a job, and there are not many people buying Vettes now with this crisis, and the gas crunch (even though its getting better). Just be patient, the right one will come along. If you get the right one, a Vette is the best, and you will be looking for every excuse to drive. If you jump and get the wrong one.........you will sell it at a huge loss. Be EXTRA careful with the TEMP.
I like the idea of a one way ticket and drive back! Check E-Bay, the FORUM go tothe local Cruise N Show. Make sure to post when you get it.
