Bluehair ran a yield sign. :( I missed her, but spun in the marbles and slapped the wall. She got the ticket.
Major damage to front end fiberglass and hood. No structural damage. Nothing hurt on me except my pride. No way they can match the paint. Maybe get a paint job out of this. :)
I'm very sorry to hear about your wreck. At least you're okay, and have a positive attitude about it. If it makes you feel better, a lot of local guys have had their Vettes, stollen, burned up, and wrecked. They've all ended up with nicer cars. :)
:( Last year I got hit, too. I took the Vette to Auto Zone to get a part for the beater and was pulling out of the lot when a sport ute shot out of a parking place ahead of me. So I stopped to allow him to go when the 80ish 3/4 ton Ford fired up and came back hitting me :mad I guess the crazed, anrgy look in my eyes must have frighened the man and his son from the truck because they grabbed their cell phone and called the police :cry The 1st repair guy came highly recommended and checked the car out a couple of times; but when the repair time, he refused to do the work, saying it wasn't worth his time :mad :mad I took the car to another shop, told the guy the there (who was an enthusist by the way) how much I had to spend and what I wanted done to the car. He was more than happy to help. In fact, he disassembled the whole car and fixed EVERYTHING on it. It was hit on the side, and he took off the front and rear bumpers repainting them, new rubber on the rear hatch, even put in a new driver's power window switch :blueangel: Fantastic guy, made a believer out of me, very knowledgeable. The rear bumper from an early 80ish Ford 3/4 ton pick-up got ripped off by my little ole vette  For all my aggevation though, I got a much improved vette :D :D
Mine got hit by a SUV in the rear on the freeway, about 2 months ago. Still getting fixed. So far, new rear bumper, all of the stuff under it, new gas tank, new Alum rear crash bar, new Corsa exhaust (costs less than stock one) and now the rear spring was hit and being replaced. About $7,000 in damages so far.

After :D
Good luck with the paint issue. Mine didn't match and the great guys at Farmers Ins. authorized me an extra $150 for additional paint matching. That's like 2.5 hours of shop time. 2.5 hours don't get you much :(
i know how you people in cali drive OMG hold on for dear life. i went to see my x girlfriend in aug. LA,HOLLYWOOD,LONGBEACH, omg YOU ALL DRIVE SOOO fast .... but sorry to hear about the vette i hope you are ok...
steve
Thanks for all the positive replies. Have an appointment to get the damage appraised on Wednesday by her insurance co. My body man will look at it tomorrow. Front bumper is crushed, some steel beneath bumper is bent, hood is damaged, tires are flat-spotted, suspension makes noises when driven. We'll see how it goes.
:)
