Took my car to a dynojet dyno in town. Can't say im pleased. Max RWHP was 227 and 318.5 RWTQ at around 170*. :( I wanted around 300 RWHP. Gotta get a super ram and new exhaust, a new cam wouldn't be bad :smash:
BTW, what are the specs on the LT1 hotcam everyone is talking about?
I was talking to another member in the Engine Mod forum, and this is the cam he said would get me aound 450 FWHP with a SR, headers, 3" exhaust, and the Edelbrock heads on a ZZ4 short block which I have:
Hyd Roller, .050" lift Int. 230º, Exh. 236º, Intake CL 113 lobe seperation 115, Int opens 2ºBTDC, closes 48ºABDC, Exh open 55º BBDC, closes 1º ATDC. Both Intake and Exh lobe lift is .350". Springs at 125PSI closed 290 Open. I use Harland Sharp 1.6 roller rockers.
A ZZ4 is nothing more than an L98 motor with a little hotter cam I believe. What heads, cam and intake are you running now? With a mild Crane cam, ported base, large runners, ported heads and headers, I dynoed 270HP to the wheels and 353 TQ. If you are running stock heads and intake, I think those numbers are right in line.
The heads are Edelbrock Performer with 2.02 intake and 1.6 exhaust valves, and 60 cc combustion chambers. Everything above the heads are stock, as with exhaust. The cam is small, 206 intake and 210 exhaust at .050 duration. It's the Comp Cams grind 262H-R12.
The guy said I had some detonation when I let up on the gas.
My car likes to run 9-10 degrees initial timing with 48 pounds of fuel pressure. I'm just stabbing in the dark, but I do feel there should be a little more power in it than that.
