Power antenna problem help
I could be wrong, but when you turn on the radio you're creating a circuit (power up antennae).
Turn the radio off, you're breaking a circuit (power down the antennae).
Makin' a circuit, and breakin' a circuit, aren't the equivalent of reversing polarity.
Right?
Seems that if he took out the antennae while retracted, then re-installed it extended, that could create the problem as it is, but is that what happened???
EDIT: Maybe at re-install, an erroneous contact was made, that caused the cycle to reverse before it properly powered on?
OR, is this (in red circle) a 3-way connector, that got mis-connected (which WOULD make it a polarity gig)?

Is that the only difference from the diagram you got posted up here? Have you ever broken down to service a harada antennae? I got 3"-4" that won't retract without manual 'help'.
Sorry there, fireman - not boostin' you're thread here; just lookin for common ground here (no pun intended
).
