Default Power antenna problem help

1995 coupe. I have changed these power antenna's before but never had this problem. The unit had broken cable, i removed the cable cleaned it up. now it runs backwards. turn key on it goes down, turn key off it goes up. any advice. have not checked relay, but it gets power so i don't think that is the problem. any ideas. The antenna motor runs one way with one polarity and the reverse. Somehow you have reversed the power wires going to the antenna motor.

The polarity of your antenna motor is reversed, somehow. Maybe this diagram will help:

I don't think this is a reversed polarity gig.

I could be wrong, but when you turn on the radio you're creating a circuit (power up antennae).

Turn the radio off, you're breaking a circuit (power down the antennae).

Makin' a circuit, and breakin' a circuit, aren't the equivalent of reversing polarity.

Right?

Seems that if he took out the antennae while retracted, then re-installed it extended, that could create the problem as it is, but is that what happened???

EDIT: Maybe at re-install, an erroneous contact was made, that caused the cycle to reverse before it properly powered on?

OR, is this (in red circle) a 3-way connector, that got mis-connected (which WOULD make it a polarity gig)?

I'm sorry, I posted a 92 wiring diagram and your's is a newer one. Your relay and motor assembly are incorporated together, but still work the same way. I do think it's a polarity issue as the motor does reverse when the antenna goes up and down. If you open the signal wire from the radio, either a pink or in your case a DRK Grn wire, to the relay your antenna will go down. Or at least it should.

Hey strick... Is the motor and relay integral on a '94 also, like you're sayin' a '95 is there?

Is that the only difference from the diagram you got posted up here? Have you ever broken down to service a harada antennae? I got 3"-4" that won't retract without manual 'help'.

Sorry there, fireman - not boostin' you're thread here; just lookin for common ground here (no pun intended ).
