I use 3M Leather and Vinyl cleaner. It takes longer because you have to apply it and then wipe it off, but it removes all those little scuffs and marks. I really like that it does not leave that cheap shiny look.
Yeah, damp towel here too but.... I've found a terry towel called "Viking Cloth." Its unique in that the fibers are split radially as in down the length of each fiber. When you rub your hands on it it catches all of the imperfections of your skin. Just a very little water and it digs out any dirt on your car while remaining soft and pliable (it does not scratch at all). It also works on glass without water - just rub the dry cloth on the glass and it "grabs" the dirt and hangs onto it! I got a couple for my wife and she uses it for dusting around the house.
The cloths that Sharkracer is referring to are called a microfiber cloths/towels, and yes, they are excellent for dash and window cleaning.
I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on all dash surfaces. It provides a very nice matte finish, does not attract dust, gives no glare, and provides a UV rating of 40. A really great product that can also be used on leather and tires if you want to.
I use formula 2000... gives it a better look without the blinding glare.
I'm down with Formula 2000, too! It repels lint and dust and it doesn't go on greasy or anything. We sound like a bunch of slims doing lotion commercials or something.
after years of experience, I dont recommend Armorall for anything, It contains alcolhol and does more damage than it does any good. Will actually cause vinyl to crack. Use any of the above, or anything that contains lanolin. Keeps it soft and pliable. I use The Tannery myself. Its made for leather and naugahyde. Ive even used Natural clear paste shoe polish with nice results. With that you can make it as shiney as you want by more or less buffing.
For the dash, door panels, etc. I use Meguiar's Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner (#40?). Spray a small amount on a terry towel and spread evenly, then with a clean dry towel buff off any excess for a nice matte finish. For the leather seats I use Meguiar's Medallion Leather Cleaner, and for the tires, Meguiar's Endurance (original formula - DO NOT use high gloss!). Meguiar's Trim Detailer removes wax residue from door handles and spoiler. As you can probably tell, I like Meguiar products. :D
nice looking car duckvette. your color combo is what inspired me. i just got mine with new tan leather. just got done within the hour painting mine green too. its not quite as dark as the polo green. its called cayman torqouise, I just wanted to be different. :yesnod:
Thanks for the compliment  ! We just got ours back from the paint shop too, we got a little nose damage on our trip to Colorado this summer. Post some pictures of your car when you can, I would like to see Cayman Turquiose!
