Hey guys, The digital control module on my 89 is acting up again. Numbers partially flash or don't come on at all and you don't know if it is working or not. This control has been swapped out once at a cost 0f 300.00 and I would rather not do it again.
Does anyone make an adaptor where you can connect either an earlier model or later model manual control heater A/C module. With all of the problems this thing causes I would think someone has come up with a way to get around it. Thanks, keep it between the fences.

My panel lights don't work when the headlights are on. Controls work still except heat door stays open. Buttons work most of the time. My whole Heat/AC system needs to be fixed. I guess modding the stock engine will have to wait until all the other gremlins are eliminated.
300$ ? That must be Parts and Labor. In 1997 I changed the same part on my 89 coupe. From GM cost was 97.00. I have never seen or heard of any adaptor to change over to manual system. Good luck
thanks for the reply, I bought the replacement unit on e-bay for 399.00 and they refunded 100.00 for the core. I have seen others for the same price and a couple even higher. I called round to a couple repair shops in my area to see if there was anyone locally that repaired these units but couldn't find anyone.
I should have done this in my first reply, but have you tried your local GM parts store. You might have this number, but if not this was mine:#1228824. I have a note here on my receipt, #88960915 might be the new part number.Hope this helps.
