I believe when new the C4s came with some sort of 'card' or documentation as to the vats passkey # (for the resistor) and perhaps a coded number for the key pattern.

Does anyone have an image of what the Passkey documentation looks like? Was it a typed card? Handwritten? Preferrably 1996 or at least late C4 if there weren't differences.

This is from my '96 owners manual:

When a new Corvette is delivered, the dealer removes
the plugs from the keys, and gives them to the first
owner. However, the ignition key may not have a plug.
If the ignition key doesn’t have a plug, there will be a
bar-coded key tag instead.

Each plug, or tag has a code on it that tells your dealer or
a qualified locksmith how to make extra keys. Keep the
plugs in a safe place. If you lose your keys, you’ll be
able to have new ones made easily using these plugs.
If your ignition keys don’t have plugs, go to your
Chevrolet dealer for the correct key code if you need a
new ignition key.


Note: You might have better luck with a good locksmith though, if your trying to get new keys made. A good one will have a tool that will read the code of the ignition lock, to determine what key code is needed.

Thanks, but not looking for key duplication - just looking for an image of the card, tag or whatever may have once been originally included when new with the owners package or portfolio...

Again, anyone have an image of the tag or card or whatever was originally included?
