My rear view mirror has the backing coming off of it and it not only looks bad I can not see out of it clearly.
All the aftermarket ones I have saw attach to the windshield whereas the Corvette attach to the roof. I can not find a good priced Corvette one but I did see one vendor selling replacement glass.
Has anyone replaced the glass in one and if so How did you do it?
Does anyone know of a good aftermarket mirror that will work?
Go to Ebay and do a search, I just bought a mirror with the lights in it ( Original GM-as New) for $60.00. They also had some on there without the lights for aroung $30.00 to $40.00 New. WW

Just a thought. Why wouldn't a mirror like THIS work? Yes, I know it is for a C5 but if we cut off the pigtail PRN, it should mount to the glass, right?
That inside glass in that link is what I was thinking about buying but I am not sure how to get the glass out of mine and install the new glass.

It mounts to the glass. Mine screws into the frame above the windshield. I can find ones that mount to glass locally but the ones like in my car must be an oddball.
My 57 Ford also mounted to the car instead of the glass and I looked for months before I found one that was compatible.

I just checked mine. It screws into something at the top of the glass in the couple. Still, look at THIS pic. It is another one but with a better shot of the base. It might work. I'll have to see someday
