Default rear Defroster issues

I have a 94 coupe I dont know if that matters on this subject but.... My rear defrost isnt working... The ends that clip on to the plungers for the hatch are all melted.... Where can I get all of these connectors and where is the fuse for the Rear defroster. What could possibly cause these things to melt down like this... because I was getting an odor the other day but didnt think anything of it.

Is it the male or the female plug that is melted?

I believe the male plug is on the hatch strut while the female is on the wire.

If you mean the female plug I'm sure Radio Shack has crimp plugs that will do the job.

Wonder why they melted??

Looks like a standard style plug, Pep Boys probably has them.

On mine the problem was not with the plug, it was with the spade where it attached to the support. I temporarily fixed mine buy clamping a piece of 8 gauge wire to the support with a small hose clamp, crimping on a spade on the other end, and plugging that spade into the factory connector or plug as you guys are calling it. In other words, I made a jumper to bypass the spade on the support. The real fix was replacing the supports.
