C4 vs. C5 wheel base
Are the stock front and rear tires and wheels on a C4 the same size as the C5 stock tires and wheels? It looks as if the C4 has a bigger wheels and tires and wheel base compared to the C5 ????

Depending on year, the tires are the same size. Some brands of tire vary in size slightly. From what I remember the C4 did not use an 18" rear wheel like the C5 did though. So the rim is slightly larger on the C5 but they used the same size tire, look at it's width and dia by using specs at the tirerack.

C5 wheels are 17x8.5 255/45/17 and 18x9.5 275/40/18
96-C4 wheels are 17x8.5 255/45/17 and 17x9.5 285/40/17
There are few exceptions but those are the basic sizes.

The C4 wheel base is 96.2", the C5 is 104.5". Stock wheels on a C4 were 16" 1984 - 1988 and 17" 1989 - 1996 (widths varied). C5 stock wheels are 17" front and 18" rear and again the widths varied.

C5 wheels dont look so big because of the car's shape and design character.
E.g., wide tires look wide on a C4, but dont so much on C5 because its got a big butt.
