Default HELP!! Engine Identification

The pad on the passenger side head has the following: V1004TPA - cleaned this pad completly and those are the only numbers.

The drivers side block pad just before the bell housing has the following:
GM 5.7 LG SGI

The head casting in the valve train valley is 3998993 J182 GM40

I am trying to determine this info in the event I need a water pump, pan gasket, rear seal etc.. along with the engine HP specs..

I have research many sites and I am not getting anywhere - HELP!!

Thanks in advance!!

The 'V' is Flint Michigan Plant

The '1004' means it was built on the 4th day of October.

The 'TPA' I'm not sure of.

It would help to know what year we are talking about.

EDIT:

Ok. Did a search.

According to this website your engine (if not original) is from a 1992 Truck.

http://www.chevymania.com/partsid/suffixresults.cfm

Code- Year -CID -Vehicle - HP -RPO -Carb
TPA- 92 - 350 -Truck -210 - L-05 -TBI

You can try the search yourself Here..

The SBC ID guidebook I have lists the 3998993 head casting as a 1968-76 350ci head with 1.72/1.50 in. valves used in trucks. This book was printed 1996. The J182 is a casting date code & means Oct 18th, 1962, '72, '82, '92 or '02 (they didn't get real specific with the year. TPA was not listed but TPB & TPC were used for 307ci engines in '72 for vans and buses. GM re-used some of these 3-letter "engine intended use" codes repeatedly so it may mean something different in later years-I'd sure hope so. To my knowledge, GM didn't re-use the head casting numbers. I think they are actual GM part numbers in their engineering system and are unique to a particular casting. Hope it helps.
