Default BFGoodrich or Firestone

Local tire store can get either the BFGoodrich g-force KDW or the Firestone Wide Ovals tires for about the same price. Anybody have these tires on your C4? Pros/Cons for either would be appreciated. Car is used just for cruising with occasional episodes of gear jammin!
Completely Stock Black 96 LT4.

Default Tires

I have the Firestone Wide Ovals-I like them, they are quiet, they are great in the grip department, but- they will flat spot if you leave them sit for a week without driving. After they run a few miles they are fine. I got caught in the rain on my way to Bowling Green, and found out how good they are in the rain! When they were installed I was surprised how little weight was needed to balance them. I was also shocked to see they were made in JAPAN! They are on a 96 LT4 also - Love the car!

Another LT4 with the Wide Ovals.
Very Happy with them.

Speaking of Made in Japan though, what isn't anymore?
Look at the back of the stock sawblades, it says "Japan" there too.
It's a Global Economy.

I have been very pleased with the BFGs on the '88 (over 30k miles).

I also like the bias ply Firestones on the '71.

I've had both. I like the Firestones beter, the BFG's make too much noise.

To the guys with the BFGs. Do you feel all the little bumps with these tires and get bad tread life or is it just my car needs a alignment?

Research cold weather and Firestone Wide Ovals. I have them on both vettes but I live in Florida. I happen to like them a lot. I think there may be some issues when it gets below 30 degrees though. Great summer performance tire. Just something for you to look into.

Tread life with BFG has always been better for me compared to the other brands that came on the cars ....

Wide Ovals on an LT4 here. TONS of dry grip, and everytime I drive in the rain they impress me more and more.

Great tread life, good looking, vibrate a little when cold, 1-2 miles and its smooth as silk, very quiet.

I've even emailed Firestone begging them to make them in 315 for when I get my new wheels, as these tires are so frigging good, its why I havn't gotten new wheels lol

Agree completely with Itshakes. Another LT4 (but a Roadster) with the Firestone Wide Ovals. Great in the wet (not very often)...super on dry pavement. Overall, nice riding tires.

How is the cold weather performance Brad? Do the tires stiffen up?
