Default Jacking points

I am new to the corvette thing but what is the best way to lift front or rear to change tires etc.I would be using a hydraulic jack,I see places on side that say jack points but isnt this for jack from car.Do you need any protection from jack surface to frame surface. I seen other threads from c-5 s that need rubber like hockey puck? Any help would be appreciated.

I use a square piece of 2X4 between the jack and the car

C5s and C6s use the pucks because they have fittings for them. C4s do not use pucks.
You see 'jack points' embossed on the plastic strip. In back of that strip is the frame. You should get down there and take a look at the configuration of the frame. IMO, anywhere on the frame is safe to jack the car.

The hockey puck or any hard rubber disk will work fine Mike as will a 2x4 mentioned above. You'll also find that using the hydraulic jack will actually enable you to lift both the front and the back wheel at the same time. Just place the jack in the area indicated either just behind the front wheel or just in front of the rear wheel.

Make sure that the car is on a level surface and loosen up the lug nuts before you jack the car up in the air.

Default jacking the car

If you get on your hands and knees and look under the car behind the front wheels, and in front of the rear wheels, you will see curved edges of steel that is welded to make up part of the frame.
I usually jack the car there on each side to change or rotate tires, change oil, etc.
