Took the Vette for a spin today..temps outside about 43 degrees..after about 15 miles car got hot..temp was up to 236..I shut it off to let it cool and headed home. When I shut it off I could hear gurgling inside the car, almost like someone gargling..it finally stopped when the car sat a bit..I did make it home after letting it cool down to 190..I am thinking stuck thermostat, or possibly a bad rad cap or even a bad fan switch..by the way it always runs nice and cool in the summer with the A/C on..any ideas?
Check for any junk caught in the radiator area by removing the shroud and remove any debris if present. Check the condition and level of your coolant. Also check out your water pump. See if your fans are coming on, could be a fan relay switch. Now that it is winter it would be a good time to drain the coolant, flush the cooling system with water, clean the radiator area, replace the thermostat and radiator hoses and refill coolant.
