So being fairly new to this Covette owning lark, I have a few questions about waving :seeya. I want to join in, but I want to do it right!
So, here's a few questions...
1) Do I wave at all Corvettes or just ones that (a) are passing me, (b) I am passing (c) or on the other side of the road (d) are parked.
2) What kind of wave should I be doing? (a) Frantic out of the window gesture, (b) Subtle half-wave (like a knowing nod) (c) full wave (rotating hand at wrist) (d) Half wave (folding fingers down and up again) (e) Mexican wave
3) Should I ever honk?
That should cover every question I have. Currently I wave at every vette moving or not, even empty ones (look a bit silly as I pass my local Chevy dealer, but at least passers-by find it entertaining). And I do the shaking/rotating wrist kind of wave inside the car, unless I'm doing a dangerous move, then I just nod.
:seeya Just wave, man!!! If they see ya, they will be honored that you acknowledged them.....most of the time. If they don't you are still part of the family :seeya

Re: Wave Etiquette (November Soul)
I wave to all that have people in them, parked, moving or whatever. Have never used the one finger wave to a Corvette, other cars yes, but not Corvettes :seeya :flag
A true Corvette owner, just like Harley owner, can spot one or the other a mile off. I always wave, and most of the time I get a responce. That is unless they are on the other side of the freeway "doing the speed limit".
Wave as if you are running for election. I, myself kind a wave like Queen Elizabeth. You know, arm still, wrist rotating ever so proper back and forth.
From me you will get the Mexican wave because I am Mexican. How you like them apples? Please choose your words a little more p/c next time ok? Thanx! All seriousness aside, I wave to 'em all but the C5 ers don't usually wave back :( . What's up with that?
:seeya
Thanks for all your suggestions guys & girls. I'll just carry on waving like a madman :)

I wasn't trying to be politically incorrect when I said "Mexican wave", I don't know how you found that offensive, but hey, sorry man! I'll try and omit any mention of any nationality in future to avoid their sensitivities, I guess that means I can't order French Toast anymore :(
Just out of interest I reserched the "offending phrase" and this is what I found...
Meaning
A wave effect formed when crowds in stadia rise up and down from their seats in succession. Origin
Given that name when the phenomenon came to a mass audience during the football World Cup held in Mexico in 1986. It had originated somewhat earlier in US colleges.
Ok man let's not go overboard w/the toast thing. It's just that I wasn't quite sure what you meant with that and found it unusual you even bothered to insert a nationality. Water under the bridge now......sorry for the negative energy.
