Trying to get this lowering kit for x-mass.

I dont think its worth nore then 10$, but what can you do.

It says for 84-87 you need both

&
Spring Mounting Upgrade Kit (required for 84-87)

The kit has the bolts for the rear, and you put the new wedges in the front to lower them.

It says that 84-87 needs the additional kit, which im not sure what it does although it looks like a brackets.

Spring upgrade kit is for the front. The later model c4's had aluminum spring brackets that when you installed to lowering wedges on the your springs, you cut the brackets down accordingly. Otherwise the spring will move up and down in the bracket. You can find the later model brackets here and sometimes Ebay. Will save you a bunch. On the rear you just install longer spring bolts to lower the rear. Hope this helps.

I understand I can get the bolts seperately

But if I bought this bracket for the front off ebay I would still need the wedges ...

I just dont completly understand the bracket, why would i need it if there isnt one now ?

The retainers need to be snug on the spring to keep it located and prevent tearing the wedges off. When you use the shorter wedge you need to get the aluminum clamps and shorten them (because your steel ones can't be shortened easily).

Most people don't bother, but IMO they are half-assing it to save $45. It'll take you all day to do the work so why not do it right? Doing it wrong and having to redo it always takes longer and costs more.

Also note, some choose to glue the wedge on the spring, some glue it to the frame. I can't give you an answer either way on which is correct.

Thank you coaster now i see the light

There is a clamp there now, but It needs to be shortened to accommodate the smaller wedge.
