Anybody have video or a sound of eliminators on an LT1? I am doing it on Tuesday and want to be sure it will not be too loud. I want some noise but not teenager noise.
i dont have a video clip, but i just had my done on my 96 vert. and they sound good. there as loud as you would think it would be. but it gives it a little rumble on idle and when you get on it you can hear it pretty good.
I love the sound on my LT-1. I unfortunately don't have any sound clips at this time, but my wife even like's the sound. She says it sounds more like a sports car now. I sure love my wife!!!!!
Back when I had my 93 the eliminators/tips looked like this:
Look like the ones I got from midamerica. Sounded great arround town and at the stoplights. Went on a 500 mile trip and my head was about to come off. Stock mufflers were immediately put back on. Still sound nice even though the reasonance is more evident. :o I guess a cross pipe is in the offing when I get the cat changed. Anyone want some slightly used muffler eliminators? Make an offer.
I had mine done also, looks just like rickreeves1. Great sound, a little loud when accelerating between 18-2100 rpm, also a little loud at steady 75 mph, but not bad.

No, mine were custom done at a local muffler shop. Resonance was not a big issue at all. I had a little resonance if it was in top gear cruising at around 45mph, so I would just downshift until I could go faster. Other than that, they were not too loud or annoying even on long cruises. And when you really stood on it, they sounded a bit like Denny Hamlin hitting the back straight at Daytona.
