Woohoo!!
got my newest addition to the family today. She was dead, pretty much, and for the first time in months she's got a heartbeat. And it's strong! The motor sounds excellent, just needs some minor timing adjustment and valves done,
She is ugly, needs a new windshield, some TLC on the inside and the dash doesn't work... but, she's coming around and the mechanicals should all be worked out by Sunday. Then we can start working on the body/interior.
What's been done:
Everything.
New block
heads-- just cleaned up and ported
clutch- centerforce
bored 30 over
new lifters and new cam (stock though)
new crank
water pump
timing chain
and all the usual stuff like wires and plugs and distributor cap etc...
What needs to be done
clutch slave cylinder replace (repair?)
LCD gauges don't work
interior lights aren't working
Bose system doesn't work, I think I'll have to go aftermarket :-(
Gauges are for some reason stuck with both blinkers and the high beam indicator on. Weird.. :confused:
Corsa exhaust (should be done next week)
Interior renovation
New weather stripping.
and
eventually going to get it painted. It's gold right now and I've always wanted a black vette. We'll have to see...
