I currently have 255/45-17 (front) and 285/40-17 (rear). I want to put WIDER tires all around. How much wider can I go, and which brand do you recommend?
You could go 275/45/17 up front and 295/40/17 in the rear.. I'm not sure if 315's will fit on the 9.5 rims..My brother has 315's on his car but has the 17x11" rims so 295 would be my guess for the rear
They don't make a 295 so you're biggest is the either the 275 or 285. The reason I say either is that some manufacturers make a 275 that is wider than the 285 of others. Great tires are the Sumitomo HTRZ's and they are wider than most in the 275 compared to others 285's. :yesnod: 295's  They don't make em!!!
If you get new rims, look at my signature for sizes. These are the GS sizes. They perform as good as they look. I would also recommend the Michelin Rubber. Blows away GY and was better than my Bridgestone RE-71s.
