Interesting....BMW 540I
I looked at Car and Driver while in the grocery store, and looked at what i killed last april. I always thought 540i were slow, and I was shocked when it kept up with me till i hit around 60mph.
But according to C&D they run
"Zero to 60 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 5.7 sec
Zero to 100 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 14.7 sec
Standing 1/4-mile . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 14.3 sec 99 mph"
Which gives me an idea i guess of what my car can do.
Basicly he hung with me right at my seat, until i hit 60mph then I just took off. I didn't power break or bring up the rev, just a straight mash of the pedal at green.
I have basic mods, at the time i still had the walker dynomax super turbo mufflers and I have 2.59 gears.
I'm curious what i would do at the track.
Are tracks still open this time of the year?

I'd say your can will run 14.0's-14.2's @ 97-99 mph.
Depends on where you live!!!

They've always been fast, I'm sure they've surprised a few others. Another one to watch out for is the Lexus GS400 or 430... they're even quicker than the 540! Wanna take a guess on which I will be buying next! :)

The first car I had a run-in with was a 540. We were rolling doing about 35 MPH and he hammered it, he had me by 2-3 car's off the git go. I drive in D around town, I pulled back in 2nd and caught him. We ran hard up to the next light and I beat him, but not by much. These cars are fast. I have been looking for him since to run him again, but no luck. Stock $16,000 7 year old LT-1 against a new $50,000 wondercar, I'll stick with the Vette. :yesnod: :yesnod:
