I have these, but the spoiler has to come off because they dont clear.
but I am going to make some like you put in the link so I don't have to remove the spoiler to use.....
They do seem like a good idea, Cinneman, but I see that they are only 4 high which translates to about 7 inches high. Perhaps by adding another piece of wood, one can achieve almost 9 inches high.....maybe. They will be heavy to move around, however.
I have a 2 sets of the heavier duty Rhino ramps. They work great for changing oil and what not. I usually put a brick infront of the front tires before driving onto the ramps. Like stated, the spoiler will rub if you don't use something to drive up on first. You can also drive on them backwards if you need clearance in the rear.
I can drive up on the back tires and jack the front up and place the other set under the front. I trust them enough to get most of my body under the car.
I use the Race ramps available from any of the corvette accesory companies {Ecklers,Mid America,Corvette Central, etc.}They work very well and I no longer need to use planks for clearance.
Thanks Guys for the input. Looks like it is a good idea to use the Rhino ramps for most jobs where portable is a factor and to make and have available the wood ones for a project that might require more time under the car with a run up outside the garage. Seems the wood ones would be safer as well......jim
