I recently bought my first vette and I love it. However, my 1994 Vette is having some overheating issue when I'm sitting in traffic. Temperatures will reach 225 to 230 and goes back down to 190 to 200 when I'm moving again. I noticed that the secondary fan is not operating and I'm not sure if it's a bad fan or a bad sensor. The fuse looks good and the wiring seems to e connected. Has anyone else experienced this problem or have a recommendation to fix the problem? Email me please. IceDazzlr@yahoo.com
That is normal. Mine does the same. The fan kicks in at 225 and drops to 200 and then again and again at idle. I am running the stock 190 thermostat. There is a way to lower it. Do a search on this site or someone else will come along shortly with more knowledge....jim

Thank you so much! Makes me feel a little better that this is a normal thing. I did notice that when I turned my A/C on the other day the temperature didn't exceed more than 210. People say that when the A/C is on that both fans come on. That would explain why I saw lowere temps the other dAY.
Normal is main fan on at 227*F and the auxillary fan on at 237*F. That is how GM designed it to operate.
You can also check the air intakefor any debris that may have been sucked in (leaves, paper cups, etc.) and is blocking the radiator. A check between the radiator and a/c may also help.
