Default Another oil pressure question!!

Hi folks , my 1990 L98 reads 40 psi when cold at idle, 10-15 psi hot at idle, about 30-40 while driving using 5w-30 dyno oil...I live in s.Florida. Is this normal?
I can hear the valvetrain but for some reason all the c4's I've heard seem about the same. Kinda noisy. BTW would you switch to Synthetic 10-30?? Thanks

'89 stock L-98
PSI @ idle warm-29
PSI @ 70 mph cruise- 54
PSI @ idle cold- 48-52

Castrol GTX Hi mileage 10-40W
170,000 miles

Don't know if this helps, just my observed readings.

-BTW I don't hear any valve train noise.

Default oil pressure

I think as long as its running good with those pressures you will be ok. Maybe take your valve covers off and ajust lifters and check for oil at the rockers. I have had early SBC's that ran fine with low oil pressure. At this point I would stick with the dino.

Thanks, Bang, thanks Mike...It runs good, I just thought it was unusually low....I think I'll go to 10-30 syn anyway...
