Chassis sharing
Its been going on for decades. Auto makers take one brand and build several cars on the same platform with minor changes. Even Lexus and Infinity is in on it. But Chevrolets Corvette was never shared with other platforms until Cadillac gave us the XLR. It always gave me a lump in my stomach. OK its got a different engine, but you can tell its a Corvette underskin. Am I alone in my feelings?

You are not alone. It even happens across company lines - the Chrysler 300 is the same chassis as the E-Class Mercedes, as I have been told (Chrysler did own MB until Chry-Ply went private).
