Sing this to the tune of grandma got ran over by a reindeer.


My corvette got run over by a reindeer
driving home from the casino Christmas night.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and my ole lady, we believe.

We’d been playing too much black jack,
And then the time come for us to go.
But as we left the reservation,
I heard this awful sound and yelled OH NO!

When I inspected her early the next mornin',
I saw a sight that really back.
There were hoof prints on her spoiler,
and incriminatin' scratch marks on her back.



Now to the story....

I was ambushed by a herd of deer.
Luckily there was not much damage.
I was driving home Christmas night and about 1.5 miles from my house there were two small deer in the road. I stopped and they just stood there.
I tooted my horn which in hindsight was a bad idea.
Off to my left I heard something and the next thing you know several of their bigger friends came out of the woods.

Now my car is sitting still in the road and one of the buggers slams into the left front near the wheel and sorta rolls over the front section.
Then I hear the god awfullest noise in the rear and the car bounces.

They all left so I drive home not wanting to even look.
When I got home and got a light out I found my radio antenna broken and what looked like some major scratches.

It was late so I waited till morning and at 1st light was out inspecting the damage.

1. hood is slightly bowed downward and front clop looks peeled up slightly near the headlight. some fur was embedded in the seam between the front clip and the hood. no scratches

2. antenna bent but I was able to straighten it up some but it only goes up and down 1/4 of the way.

3. 3 inch scratch on the side that appears to have been made with antlers.

4. scratches on the wing (I do not like the wing anyway but the wife does and this is her car)

5. HOOFPRINT on rear deck about 1/4 the way across. I think this is when the car bounced. He must have jumped up on the rear and then used it as a springboard.


At least I have good insurance with a $250 deductible.

 

Whoa. Quite a story. I've never heard of dear actually attacking a car. In our neck of the woods my experience has been that the run given the chance. Hope you can get her repaired soon.

 

I think when I blew the horn to scare the ones on the road i must have spooked the ones in the weeds beside me that i did not see and they ran right into the car.

 

Well, if it makes you feel better, there's plenty of Corvettes on the forum that have survived encouters with deer.

 

I guess the deer werent the only one who had too much eggnog

Sorry to hear about that, but at least they didn't jump out while you were on the highway.
