Can anyone tell me if standard type shocks will fit my 90 corvette with the FX3 option, I only need them temporarily, as the cost of the FX3 shocks isnt in the budget this year.
They should bolt up without a problem, just tie the actuator out of the way. The rear actucator can be unplugged and removed, cant remember if the front one can. Make sure the one in the rear...That the wiring doesnt get lost inside the frame.

Both the front and back actuators can be removed and the connectors shoved out of the way. That reminds me I need to find the funds to get mine rebuild. Guy I bought her from had removed them and installed Monroe's.
Another option for you is having Bilstien rebuild them for you......or thers a company outside of Bilstien that does overhauls on them too for $60. each or something like that......
Bilstein rebuilds the FX3 shocks for $100 each, plus shipping. Captain Z rebuilds the actuators for $125 each. $225 for each corner X 4 corners comes to $900. New set of Bilstein HDs is about $300 for all four. It all comes down to how much you want to spend.
I put the Monroe Sensatrack on mine, YUCK! Ok ride, but the cornering sucks, so getting ready to order a set of Bilstein HD (or maybe Sports).

GO to eshock.com best price on the FX-3 out there last time I looked about $128 a piece. Based on a few members results with Bilstein rebuilds I say avoid unless you are wanting a specail morroca setting for Auto Crossing its just not worth the money. You are better off new otherwise you get a nasty non painted shock back with susposedly new internals. GC !
Eshock and shockwarehouse are about the cheapest at around $180.ea.Do you know the problem with yours.I would run a check of the codes and write them down, may be your actuator(s) are bad. Also the small gear on top of the shock breaks. If this is the case buying new is cheaper. If your gear on top of the shock is good and the shock is not leaking they may be good. Just my 2 pennys good luck
