I am in the process of full restoring a alpine white 96, which is almost done. I am having some problems with the headlights. When the lights open or close the motor keeps running for a few seconds and the lights make a cliking noice. Can anyone help? Thanks
Replace the bushings in the headlight motor gear box. Parts are inexpensive from the major C4 parts stores and it takes a little time to do both headlights (suggested do both at same time). Check this link for assistance. http://www.corvettemagazine.com/2002...hts/light1.asp
i rebuilt mine for the same reason. 89 C4. went to a corvette restoration place in town to pick up the parts(3 nylon bushings per side) and paid $30. found the same parts on ebay at a later date for $5. oh well, already done. job will only take you about 2-3 hrs if your a novice at it as i was. first side is learning curve, second one is GRAVY good luck

Thanks for the reference. I am going to store it for future reference.
Mine just started to do the exact same thing. I just ordered the bushings and bronze gears from Corvette Central - total for the set with shipping was $148.75.
The two bronze gears was the most expensive - they were $59.95 each. I decided since I have to take it apart anyway, might as well fix it right. The two sets of bushings cost $5.95. Shipping was 16.95 - seems really high, but I have never been disappointed with anything I have had to purchase from CC.
