I'm looking at a 1991 Corvette. The option codes says it has option
FX3 - Electronic Selective Ride & Handling System. When new, GM charged about $1,695 for this option.

Can someone tell me what this is?
Thanks.
Here is a good place to start learning about the options available on a 1991 C4. If the car has FX3, check to see whether it also has Z07 or not. Notice the production numbers for both options.
The long and short of it is that the car has shocks that can change their damping. Each shock has a motor mounted on top of it that adjusts the damping. There is a controller that tells each motor what to set to. As the speed increases, the shocks get firmer. Additionally there is a cockpit adjustable **** that you can set to "tour", "sport", and "perf" that tells the controller how firm you want the ride.
