Personally, I dont like them, but thats just my opinion. I only liked the side exhaust on the mid 60s vettes.

I have it on my 93 ruby convertible. Great look, great sound. The nice thing about side effects is that you can go back to the stock system very easily. There are no permanent mods. Everything is bolt on. Did you buy the 2 rear panel fillers? They really finish off the installation. Good luck. I'm sure you will love the system.

I really like the Side Effects. They're different, but not too extreme. And if they sound anything like Power Effects, you've got a great combo there!

I just bolted them in(after paint). I agree that molding in the seams would look great but it would make things a little difficult should you decide to go back to a stock type exhaust. Even just bolting them on gives a nice finished appearance. Be prepared to attract a lot of attention. From the day I added the side effects I am constantly stopped by C4 owners asking where I got the set up, cost, installation questions and could I please rev the motor so they can hear what it sounds like.

I think they look great. That will be my next mod. I am saving for them.

Geck: How hard are they to put on? did you have any problems with the X brase being in the way?

Thanks,
Mike

No offense, I just like more of a stock looking vette. To each his own. If you like it, go for it. You might consider, however, the resale value of your car as it could affect resale. Just something to think about.

My corvette club is sponsored by a chevy dealer so I was able to get a good deal on the installation. The x braces were not a problem. When the time comes that you are ready to buy a set call the manufacturer direct. Definitely cheaper than the catalog companies like Ecklers etc.

As i mentioned in a earlier post side effects is a bolt on installation. There are no modifications. It is very easy to go back to the stock exhaust system if one should decide to go back to stock. So it does not affect resale.

As I said, "To each his own". If those side effects make you happy, then so be it. I don't like them. I am entitled to an opinion.

2 questions:

Did this setup provide a performance improvement?

And, how do the covers affix to the body?

Thanks.
