Default Jacking 1995 coupe

Just got this baby and I love it. I need to get it on jack stands to change shocks and get the new Firestones mounted. I bought a low profile jack at NAPA. Can I use the front aframe and put the jack stands under the lower control arms in the front? How about the rear? Iam awear of the factory jacking points.

NOT the way I would do it. Use the factory jack points and you will see an area just forward, and rearward, to put the jack stands.

2-Jacks R worth a mention...

I recently had the same question, and I copied some of the same links and PDF files for reference (very nicely done, BTW). However, one suggestion in addition to where to jack and place stands was a recommendation to get TWO floor jacks and jack the front and rear at the same time. Not only is it a lot quicker, but it reduces concern about stressing the frame and cracking something - not that it has been an issue...yet.

One other thing, a "how to" on the ZR-1 Registry suggested using a hockey puck between the jack lift plate and the car. I've used wood blocks, but they sometimes split and end up putting stress where I don't want it. Anywayz, I went to SAM's Club and got a 3½ ton floor jack for $64 that comes w/ a rubber puck. I have a feeling I'm really gonna appreciate having two jacks, next time the Z "needs a to get high"!

Now...The next best thing would be a lift, doancha know!!! (I'm working on that!)
