1993 Digital Dash question
When I disconnect the plug at the ECT sensor and just turn the key to on, the dash reads 142 degrees. If I put a jumper across the ECT plug connections and turn the key to on again it reads 142 degrees.
With the plug connected it seems to read the coolant temp right.
Can anyone verify that it should not read 142 degrees the way it does.
The FSM only mentions taking these readings with a Tech1 and I don't have one available. I contacted a couple Chevy dealers about looking at this and they will not work on Corvettes this old. They told me that they really don't like working on Corvettes at all, but that they have to work on the "New Ones" they sold.
