My Godson, 16 years old, is looking to buy his first car. A 1987-1992 Camaro. Is there any other website he should be researching other than Autotrader and Fleabay? Yeah, I know he should buy a Vette but his Dad already has an LT-1.
I've owned several F-Body cars over the years. The TBI cars are great on gas and have power when needed, the TPI cars are quicker of course. The good thing is he'll have two engine choices (three if he finds a very rare 6-cylinder), the 5.0 and 5.7 liter, both good powerplants as we know. He'd be better off doing an extensive search and finding a one-owner car as the F-Body's get pretty beat up by kids. Check eBay, many to be found there.
I traded this F-Body for the Corvette:
I gave my sister this one and she still drives it today:

These are all good fbody sites. LS1 is the best IMO. The have a non-ls1classified sections. Also I know there is a 3rd gen fbody site I used to visit. I just cant recall the name.
16 years old? Make that F-body a V6 model... everybody will be happier for it (especially the insurance company)
Teenage first car owner+high powered car = potential feature on "Seconds From Disaster"
you have been warned.
Kids will be kids, be it in a Camaro or a Honda. If the car is capable of going faster than 55, the kids will drive them that fast. I'd rather see a kid in American Metal rather than recycled Japanese beer cans.
