hey yall, i am new to the corvette world, and i was wondering how i could find out the engine/trans models for my car. also, is there a way to get a replacement vin number tag? the previous owner must have busted and replaced my winsheild, and as a result, the vin tag is rusted almost to un readability.
thanks
My VIN tag was also rusted up and barely readable. I don't know if you can buy a replacement. But either way, the windshield needs to be removed to get to it and it's riveted on.
So when my windshield broke and was being changed out, I took that opportunity to scrub the tag with steel wool while I had access to it. Then I shot some rust inhibitor spray on it before the new glass was installed.
Welcome to the Forum. The 85 is a great car. It is stock with a 350 L98 engine, cast iron heads, tuned port fuel injection. The auto was a 700R4, not sure about manual. Stock HP was 230.
Old, but not too difficult to work on.
