Doing it from behind
Where do you folks place a floor jack such that I can raise the whole butt end of the car, one time, and place one jack stand either side of the car. I need to remove the rear shocks for inspection.

They used to sell an adapter that goes on your jack to lift the whole backend of the car by the differential. I heard they quit making them though. No other real good place to do it all at once with the exhaust still on the car.

you don't...
this is how I do it... lift one side at a time...
ok... using the floor jack, pick a side, either side, and get that side up. with stand in hand, check under and you can see where the chassis rails flow up, set the stand there...
repeat on otherside. you might hear some crunching, thats only the stand settling.
just watch where you set the stand... there is a spot under that will work.
