Fuel problem or something else ??

Default Fuel problem or something else ??

Had the Vette out today,first day in about 2 weeks.Warmed her up for about 15 mins,then drove her to work.Ran great and strong for the 10 min ride to work.as I was coming to a stop at the entrance to the high way I floored it and it felt like somone pulled the plug,I didnt come to a complete stop and was making a hard right onto the highway. She didnt shut down,just lost power. I DID NOT have a full tank,it was about 1/2 full,could I have just lost fuel pressure or is something else I should look for ?? I did fill her up after work and was fine for a longer ride home.Thanks

you could try a fuel pressure gauge and tape it to your windshield. See what happens when you floor it. If there is a drop you could have a clogged fuel filter. Also have you checked your tps? 5.0 volts at wot

Had a similar problem, it would come and go.. ended up a bad tps connection..

c4's are famous for dirty fuel socks on the fuel pump and fuel starvation in hard turns as a result. Pull your fuel tank lid and boot and you'll see how easy it is to pull the fuel pump (attached to filler neck). Then clean or replace the sock and make sure the "slosh guard" at bottom of tank is in place. The fuel pump pick up and sock are to be nestled into the slosh guard when installed.

If you can afford to, just replace the pump. I cleaned my sock first and it made a huge improvement in turns but was not perfect so I ended up replacing the pump and wishing I would have just replaced it while I was in the first time.

My old 91 was notorious for pulling that trick on anything less than about half a tank, and many others have had similar experiences. Clean or replace the sock or just replace the fuel pump. FP replacement on our cars is a piece of cake.

I used a walbro 255 lph . Im not at home to get the part # but I bought it off ebay. Here's one...
