Recently I have had to put the Vette up for sale to go towards school. Next summer I am going to save up to buy another one (dont want to be vetteless for too long), so would you go another C4 or other Corvette model such as a project C3?
There's just something about chrome-bumper C3's....that's my dream car right there. If my Corvette wasn't a daily driver, I'd be all over a '69 big block project
C4 for sure, right now they are super cheap. One thing I don't like about C3 vettes is the interior, typical 70's, but the later ones 80, 81 interior looks a little better. But the C4 don't rust, one more reason to get a C4, and they look .
Go for the chrome bumper shark! (OK I have a bias, but still.....)
Try to find a 72. They are the least expensive of the chrome bumper sharks. If you don't mind only having the back in chrome then get a 73.
Just keep in mind that a C3 project car is going to cost more in the long run than a solid 78 or 81, but at the rate early sharks are climbing you will make that money back in no time.
I have both a C4 and a C3 and the shark is by far my favorite of the 2.
I found a driving 72 for $7500 out here the other night. I cant get it though until I pay for more schooling. Hopefully when I have the money it will still be for sale.

It really depends on how you plan to use it. I have an early C4 and a 68 427. The C3 is totally impractical as daily transportation but is a great toy The C4 is alot less money and really can be driven anywhere and enjoyed. Lots of deals out there now on nice, low mileage C4's. The early C3's are starting to get pricey. Kind of the "trickle down" effect from the mid-years (C2).
I'm in a similar boat. I have a 70 small block and a 1985. The 70 has no AC and is hot as hell to drive. The 85 is more comfortable and gets better gas milage, but the shark is the real head turner.
I still say try to get a 72 and hold onto it. The value will come up and you will have a great cruiser.

I think the owner of this is a member. It's one of the best looking Corvettes out there IMHO from any year. If mine weren't a DD I'd have an '82. (yeah I know...but still!)
