Tach Filter
Well here I go again. I have a 1990 and sometimes my tach works and sometimes it does not. I have located the filter, but what a task to get at. Has anyone out there replaced the tach filter? Can it be removed without taking off other parts? What is the procedure? Help

just replaced mine in Sept . it would work some times and nothing the next or some real high readings , GM no longer makes these after market only got mine from Mid America they supplied instruction , it was a snap the only thing I needed to remove was the air cleaner , the stud it is mounted to was a bitch had to remoev the whole stud instead of just the retaining nut then had to use two wrenches the seperate the nut from the stud when you put it back on be careful that the stud doesn't turn as you tighten the nut or you could pinch the filter wire and you will be back where you started , hope this helps .
