I have a 1996 LT4 convertible and I am trying to find out how many of these were made. I have seen the ZR1 forum where they list about every ZR1 made. Does anyone know of a site where I can find out anything about production numbers for my car?
Thanks, Johnny
I assume your LT4 Vert is not a Grand Sport or a Collectors Edition since you didn't mention those models. Since their numbers are better documented and the GS actually has a different VIN series you can get better numbers for them. For a Non GS, Non CE you have to use math and proportions to figure collectibiltiy of certain options.
Corvette Black Book lists 21,536 total cars with 4,369 being verts. There was a total of 6,359 LT4s of which 1000 were Grand Sports. Of the 1000 GSs there were 190 verts. That means there were 5,359 LT4s that were not a GS. It also means that there were 4,179 Non GS verts.
There were also 1381 Collector Addition convertables. 4179 minus 1381 is 2798 verts that were not either a GS or CE.
Now for the big question - How many of those verts were LT4s???? Only Chevy could really know but you could figure that if the proportions are the same then about 26% of them have an LT4 so ~730 LT4 Verts that arn't a GS or CE.
You may want to double check my math!!
