I was thinking about putting some headers on my 90 L98. I was thinking they would make the car run cooler and give my a little more HP.
Your thoughts out there about:
#1 - Are there any benefits in the performance,
#2 - Should I go with long or short tube,#
#3 - Should I go with painted or ceramic coated
#4 - Just leave it stock

#1 - Yes (but only with quality long tubes)
#2 - See answer to #1
#3 - Ceramic is the way to go, but expensive (You get what you pay for though).
#4 - That's a personal choice. Totally up to you

Everything he said x2. If you get long-tubes, you will have to get new cats also, since the stock ones are displaced. A set of Random Technology bullets can be had for about $150 each, I think. Or you can go catless (no endorsement from me...im running RT's).
I agree with the others with one side note: you already have stainless short tubes (like all L98's do) from the factory (and they are useless) so like others said long tubes are the way to go.
jwalker: his car is L98, there is one main cat in the middle (precats are gone after the long tubes). He doesn't have get a new cat at all, the stock one will work but a free flow cat would help with the power aspect. Bullet cats will not fit his system until he plans to do a total separate pipes thing to his car.
#1 - Good long tubes=good torque
#2 - All shorties do is create underhood temp rise
#3 - At least get them thermal painted but ceramic is best
#4 - Lol stock, thats funny. Trade vette for minivan

You can weld on a 3" universal Magnaflow main cat if you want and delete the pre cats. I got mine on eBay for $65. Leaving the main cat will help with resonance as well.
