Default ALTENATOR

thank heavens for life time warenty.. replaced my 3rd one in 2 1/2 years. don't know why they go bad except for the heat, but saved a lot of money, lany suggestions to make one last longer. thanks, jerry

Where are you buying the ALTs from? I don't use the pipe looking bracket that goes from the rear of the ALT to the exhaust headers. I think the ALT can do without the added heat the headers will induce in the diodes!

I don't use the pipe looking bracket that goes from the rear of the ALT to the exhaust headers. I think the ALT can do without the added heat the headers will induce in the diodes!
You will end up torquing the alternator out of place, risk the serpentine belt flying off, and snapping the housing on the alternator. Unfortunately I did this once....... :(
