The dull rubbery substance on the shifting console and the piece above that incompasses the radio has worn off or pelled off. I've seen this on the interior door handle on some c4s. Mine is a 1995. Is there a way to repaire this or do I need to buy new pieces. Zip has the console but it cost $125.00.
I used carborator cleaner and removed all of the rubberized coating and painted it the color of the outside, it's an all day cleaning job, but looks so much better.

Do a search, lots of members have tried different things with different results. I did the cab cleaner, sanded it, primed it and repainted it. Looks great now.
Yeah i saw them on ebay for less than 100 new. I think normally its 91+shipping. I had the same issue, but instead of sanding priming and painting, i covered it with a fake synthetic leather. Came out pretty well, I enjoyed the project and was happy with the end result. To tell ya the truth tho, i wish i just wouldve painted it. A lot less work.

Wow! That is 1st class work. You definitely have some skills.
I'm not very good with spray paint. The refinished pictures look real good, but fo me I think I'll bite another bullet and buy a new one. I also want to get the shift indicator piece. Mine is dull and faded. Thanks for all the feed back. This is truely a great forum!!
